Israel reportedly contracted the Halliburton Company to provide drilling evaluation for Gas and Oil in the so-called Karish Field in the maritime boundary area with Lebanon. Lebanon’s representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Amal Mudallali, submitted a letter of complaint to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and the President of the Security Council, Geraldine Byrne Nason.In that letter, Lebanon demanded that the Security Council ensures that the Israeli drilling process isn’t located in the disputed area in order to avoid any attack on the rights and sovereignty of Lebanon.
